We always recommend Impact safer surfacing with our products as “safety for children” is paramount.  The thickness of the surfacing very much depends on the free fall height of the equipment.  This is outlined in the technical panel for each item of equipment in this catalogue that requires safety surfacing and should be calculated in accordance with BS EN1176.
