NewsSCHOOL PLAY AREA RECEIVES OLYMPIC STYLE OPENINGA new play area and outdoor classroom at a North Yorkshire independent prep school were given an Olympic-style opening recently.
The new equipment was paid for with money raised by Belmont Grosvenor’s Parent Teacher Association. Pupils, staff and parents watched and cheered as the Olympic hero opened the new facilities – and the story made both the regional BBC news and radio stations, as well as receiving extensive coverage in the local newspapers. “Everybody was very excited about the project. completed a new playground for the under-12 age group of children in Aberford
village, Leeds, West Yorkshire. The design and build included extensive groundworks including creating new levels. Working closely with the fundraising committee, a selection of age-appropriate equipment was then selected and installed. The lucky Aberford children now have: - a multiplay unit The playground’s grand opening last month was by Gayle Knowles and Eleanor Carswell of the playground committee, together with the local parish council. life drama serial ‘The Real Emmerdale’ will have spotted a
PPL play area in the edition broadcast on January 2nd 2006. The wooden adventure playground can be found at Hesketh Farm Park near Bolton Abbey in North Yorkshire. Hesketh Farm Park, which opened in 2005, features a host of attractions of which PPL’s play area is just one of many. The wooden equipment blends in pleasantly with the farm’s buildings, barns and fences. Commented PPL marketing director, Vicky Patchett: ‘This is our first farm project and one of which we are very proud. The combination of animals, fresh air and outdoor play is great for visiting children and we hope to take on other projects in this area in the future’. - January 2006 Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson opens play area at Zoe’s Place Hospice PPL were asked to tender for the project in June 2004 and our design team sprang into action. The order was placed in November and work commenced in the New Year, and was finished by May 2005. The play area has been particularly designed for use by special needs children and follows the guidelines laid out in the Disability Discrimination Act. Flagship playsite opening marks 10 years in business PPL
(Parkdale Play & Leisure Ltd) which celebrated its 10th year
in business last year, has recently opened its largest-ever single children's
outdoor play area in Marsden Park, Nelson, Lancashire.
Officially opened on 10th September 2004 by the Lady Mayoress of Pendle Borough Council, Cllr. Dorothy Lord, the playground has delighted not only local children but also greatly impressed Pendle Borough Council’s Kevin Singleton, Marsden Park’s Landscape Restoration Manager, who oversaw the project. He commented: 'Through working together as a team, PPL have produced a flagship play area any local authority would be proud to own. From design until completion, PPL have performed magnificently.' - Praise indeed. PPL Marketing Director Vicky Patchett added: ‘We have been very pleased to be able to help Pendle Borough Council with its restoration of this beautiful parkland.
