FARNBOROUGH ROAD, SOUTHPORT
PPL (Parkdale Play & Leisure) Ltd of Skipton were delighted to be awarded the contract for a space for sport earlier this year.
Headteacher, Adrian Antell of Farnborough Road Junior School, Birkdale, Southport said he was keen to make the new area as spectacular as possible and to work with a contractor who had a good reputation with schools. Money had been raised by the community so it was vital that the right decision was made.
Work was finalised in October 2010 by PPL Ltd of Skipton and included a Multi use games area measuring 22.5m x 27m with an artificial grass surface.
There was a Grand opening attended by Steven Gerrard. The England player and Liverpool captain opened the area along with 900 children from 2 local schools who were delighted with their special visitor.
